• Chimney Fires – If bricks and mortar are damaged and cracks remain in the cap or crown, there can be structural breakdown. Airflow may be compromised. Cresote, which is the byproduct of wood burning, collects on the chimney liner. If embers drift up the chimney, the creosote can catch fire, causing a chimney fire.
